I took some time out....from the blogging world. No, I wasn't lazy, in fact quite the opposite, but I had to set priorities...
Why? Well the last year I was busy building my very own company and Bikini Label LAYA Bikini and whilst I LOVE being busy it came to a point where I had to put my blog on a back burner to use my energy for this crazy new journey. I will get into my business venture from the very start more in another blogpost that'll be published soon! ;)
Anyways I'm BACK! And I wanted to touch on a subject that a lot can probably relate to. With the raise of busy, career focused business women who juggle a lot to create their dream lives, it's important to find the BALANCE! No business will benefit from a burnt out director that lacks creativity after a while.

When I have a lot on my plate I don't let it stop me from doing little road trips or other fun activities. You just need to improvise a little to be able to do both. :) Today for example I'm sitting here with my friend in Margaret River. She's studying and working, I'm working, blogging, designing. I take designated time out to go to the beach, surfing and to hang with my friends but I don't forget to work. You CAN have it both you just have to get better at being disciplined and finding that middle ground.
I find that social connections and time for myself give me the best inspiration. I know you're like 'but I just don't have the time and I'd much rather get it over and done with'. Duh! We all do! But keep going like this and you'll ask yourself in 5 years where did the time go and what memories did I create?
Don't live to work, work to live!!!
I always have my mum in the back of my mind when I do another crazy stint of freelance event work again, 'Make sure you take time to relax!'. Thanks Mum! It's easy to forget sometimes. But I've gotten much better to remember to take time to tune out and tune into myself. Which is so so important to be able to stay true to YOURSELF. It's easy to get carried away in our little bubbles and adjust to our environment without realising this might not be what YOU want or WHO you are.

- Go for walks!
- Take time to cook a nice meal.
- Reduce the amount senseless friendships and focus on the real deal. Sounds harsh? Don't think so. I realised there was a lot of relationships I kept for the wrong reason. Just ask yourself why certain people are in your life...you might come to the same conclusion.
- Relax! This is hard for me. It's hard for me to do NOTHING at all. But god it's good for my soul when I do force myself just to not do anything. The way it works for me, to really shut up my mind, is going for a surf. When I surf my mind goes on holiday and literally thinks of nothing at all. It feels GOOD!
Now, your turn! What are your tricks, ways or advice to find that balance in life???? Comment below :)
